The BEEP Electronic Art Collection is fruit of the interest of the TICNOVA Group in supporting artistic creation linked to technology and favouring communication between developers / creators of technology and artistic creators. A natural collaboration that benefits and enriches both worlds.
Linked to the ARCOmadrid Contemporary Art Fair since its beginnings, in twelve years the BEEP Electronic Art Prize has generated one of the most important Electronic Art Collections in Europe. More than 30 pieces eclectically resume the tendencies of technological media in the field of artistic practice.
The BEEP Electronic Art Collection implements an active acquisition policy, collaborating with artists and galleries through its programmes for the production and restoration of artworks. Fruit of these new, more dynamic forms of collecting are the addition of pieces by Eugenio Ampudia, Marcel·lí Antúnez, Fakeshop, Sachiko Kodama and Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, as well as the winner of the XI BEEP Electronic Art Prize, “Portrait on the fly” by Christa Sommerer and Laurent Mignonneau.
BEEP, in collaboration with New Art Foundation, maintains an active programme of patronage in this field, having made possible, more than 80, projects, festivals, exhibitions and investigations in the last few years.
ARCO 36: stand 7-I-11
The BEEP Electronic Art Collection will be present at the 36th edition of ARCOmadrid with its own stand in the 7-I-11 pavilion. The latest acquisition of the collection, “Redundant Assembly” by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, as well as a video created by students at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Valencia about the exhibition, “Electronic Timing. BEEP Electronic Art Collection”, that as a large-scale workshop allowed Masters students of Visual Art and Multimedia to work with the artists and artworks of the collection. This initiative was made possible thanks to the generosity of the artists and through the social responsibility programmes of the Ticnova Group in support of the Public University.
On 24 February, 2017 at 17:00 hrs the XII ARCO BEEP Electronic Art Prize will be awarded at the stand of the Collection.
