Internationally recognized for his interactive installations and works of bio art, Eduardo Kac explores the fluidity of position of the subject in the post-digital world, questioning the evolution, the memory and even the condition of the creation. His unsettling pieces emphasize the dialogical nature of art. A contemporary artist with a poetic and philosophical vision of life, Kac is without doubt one of the most important and significant representatives of art in new media. Due to the priority that he gives to life and the communicative process in the finished work, his art relies on the use of an incredible variety of materials.
In 2000 he acquired international fame for the creation of Alba, a florescent rabbit. Kac also invented an artistic gene in his work “Genesis” and utilized his body as field of experience in “Time Capsule”. His work has been exhibited in museums, galleries and biennials as important as: Exit Art and Ronald Feldman Fine Arts, New York; Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris, and Lieu Unique, Nantes, France; OK Contemporary Art Center, Linz, Austria; Seoul Museum of Art, Korea; Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro; MAXXI – National Museum of XXI Century Art of Rome, Yokohama Triennial, Japan; Biennale of Sao Paulo, Brasil; Gwangju Biennale, Korea; and in the Zendai Museum of Modern Art of Shangai, among others.
